Less than in six months we received an invitation to the interview. We went there and have taken with us some proof of the validity of our marriage, for example joint credit cards, joint bank accounts, insurances, recordings of telephone conversations etc. And a heap of photos where we are together, taken when we traveled in America.
The way we were treated on the interview is simply unbelievable. The officials started with insulting me, that I am such and such, had arrived here as the tourist, and had deceived the officer about my real intentions to stay here. In fact, I only realized that I wanted to stay after I fell in love.
Nobody listened to me. They told me that they "know girls of the same kind", that I am "one of those Ukraine brides". I replied that I were a citizen of Russia. The answer was "Really? Anyway, it does not matter." They kept asking me, why I had not returned to Moscow and had not changed my visa for a fiancee visa etc., etc. In fact, my visa, as you can see, has expired a long time ago and I live here on an extended visa, though I had received my case number and the work permit long before the visa has expired.
Having asked my husband some questions, the officer requested the paper proof of authenticity of our marriage. When she saw them, she said she could see that we are really married, and that she does not even need to see the photos. As a result, she gave us a letter with only one line in it: FILE REVIEW. Then she said that we should expect a letter from the INS in the nearest future. When asked "A letter about what?", she replied "We will see".
This is how it all took place. Now we are facing an obscure future, with no idea of what is going to happen.
