Many of them are familiar with singles vacations: some of them spent weekends in New York and Washington or flew over the ocean to visit Eastern Europe and even Africa. Some combined pleasant with useful: had a holiday in Mexico, at the same time being engaged in teaching of English as a second language. As a whole, impressions from singles vacations appeared to be positive, and only one of the 50 surveyed has told us how her things were stolen by the owner of some shop. Some women mentioned loneliness, a concern for, to put it mildly, not the best image ladies have in these countries and lack of protection. They usually stayed in the safest part of the city, refused rooms on the ground floor and constantly supervised the environment.
Some women told us about the feeling of loneliness and desire that somebody could share these singles vacations with them. However even such emotions could not keep them at home, and all of them equally went on these trips. The majority of our interviewees answered a question why women prefer singles vacations in such a way: we go alone because it is easier to get new friends. For example, one American has said that to the very moment when her plane landed, she talked with five people with whom she could agree to dine. Also our research has revealed some distinctions between the generations. 40-60-year-old travelers try to get rid of the plenty of duties they have in their everyday life, while 20-30-year-old ladies appeared to be much more free. Therefore many of them already had time to visit more than 40 countries.
