The Japanese police take under control the virtual dating services. The national police service of Japan stated that it will from now on control the activity of dating services in Japanese internet in order to secure underage children from prostitution and breaking the law and to punish some of them.
The police will also attempt to catch the adults who use virtual dating services for getting people involved - in particular minors - in selling sex for money. The specialists of police service consider that it is necessary to pass a law in the country which would establish the punishment that teenagers can get for the "abuse" of dating services. As is expected, the corresponding legislation will be examined by the parliament of Japan in February.
In the police they note that an increase in teenage prostitution is observed now. In the past year national police service discovered 666 cases of teenage prostitution, which is 2,3% greater than in the year 2000.
